    Madras Cafe, a family-owned restaurant serving Indian vegetarian food.

    Restaurant owner , Priya Sivakumar hails from Tamilnadu, the southern most state of India. TamilNadu’s capital city Chennai was previously called ‘Madras’ until 1996 .

    The old name of the city evokes nostalgia, and in an attempt “to take a piece of home with us,” the restaurant was named Madras Cafe.
